How often do I attend therapy?
Standard sessions are 50-minutes long and I offer extended sessions as needed. How often a person should come to therapy is dependent on the individual. Most individuals attend therapy once per week, especially in the beginning of our work together. When things feel significantly distressful, twice per week is an option as well. It is not uncommon to step down to biweekly, or even monthly sessions as the ‘work’ lessens.
How much does therapy cost?
What type of insurance do you accept?
- What is my out-of-pocket deductible and has it been met?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
I have a certain number of sliding scale slots available. Please ask during our initial consultation to see if I have any sliding scale spots. If I do, I use the green bottle method.

What can I expect to get out of therapy?
Depending on the reasons you are seeking out therapy, what you can expect to get out of therapy differs. Generally, folks I work with are processing trauma and are working towards rewriting their story in a way that represents them authentically and addresses them wholly. With this kind of work, you can expect a place to come as you are and to be witnessed. Whatever is going on for you, hopefully therapy will make it easier by providing clarity, relief, confidence, safety or whatever you feel you need at this time.

How long does it take to feel better?
Therapy is not a ‘one size fits all’, so this varies from person to person and depends on where you are in your life at this time. You may find that sharing your story and being witnessed by someone can provide relief in earlier stages or you may find that the process takes time. It is not uncommon for therapy to feel uncomfortable as it requires you to lean into things that hurt – so if this is you, you are human as it’s a human experience to want to turn away from what is painful.
How can I know if we are good match?
This is a great question… it’s important to feel comfortable and safe with your therapist. The best way to know if we are a match is by doing a free consultation so we can speak and get a feel for each other. Usually we can determine if we’d be a good match after one conversation. Please feel free to request a free 20-min consultation by contacting me online or calling (323) 673-5562 .
